Dear Vancouverites: Don't Frown, Just Get Down!

Yes, I know rain has moved in and is now proclaiming itself to be our friend, that friend we never really want around. As wet as it is, you can't hibernate for 8 months, and if you can, then I think you have a problem that is beyond the realms of this post. Nonetheless, if you have the courage to head outside, the following events are deffinatly worth getting down to.

Stay calm, carry on and check out some of Vancouver's newest and coolest:

GALLERY 1965

Take a peek at the exhibit located in one of Vancity's newest galleries currently featuring 66 local artists including Rick Erickson, curated by Michael Turner.


There are two segments to this opening exhibit and a special talk:
Segment 1: Septemeber 8th- Septemeber 30th.
Segment 2: October 6th- November 4th.
Curator Talk: Saturday, October 8th at 8PM.

FUSE
Covet 
This event has been running annually at the Vancouver Art Gallery since 2005 and features great DJ music and dance performances along with unique gallery tours and featured installations.You can definitely count on a having good time at FUSE.

Friday, November 4th, at 8PM.

BEUTFL PRBLMS - Radix Theatre Society

   RADIX THEATRE SOCIETY

Since 1988 - This Vancouver based society currently directed by Andrew Laurenson, has been has been developing performances and cultivating experimental pieces that are integrated with Vancouver's niche cultural events.

YVR - Is a free workshop currently taking place for all to join and will teach participants the art of paper and audio design and the opportunity to indulge into Vancouver's heritage.
RoundHouse Community Centre, Thursdays from September 8th until December1st in room B. Located on the corner of Pacific and Davie St.




POST- Plastic Orchid Factory
 
PLASTIC ORCHID FACTORY

The plastic orchid factory is a Vancouver based contemporary ballet company directed by James Gnam. The company has been showcased with The Vancouver International Dance Festival, The Scotiabank Dance Centre, Dancing on the Edge, Dance in Vancouver, ROMP!, The InFrinGinG Dance Festival, and The Chutzpah!











15th ANNUAL EASTSIDE CULTURE CRAWL
Picture 10,000 people walking along the streets between Main and Victoria Drive from 1st Avenue down towards the waterfront and the Eastside Culture Crawl is what you get! Participants can expect to openly walk into the studios of local artisits and view a variety of art exhibits during the three day event.
